🎯 Next Step: GPU Path Tracing & Global Illumination based on the NVIDIA OptiX framework.

After laying the groundwork for GPU Ray tracing with lightmaps in Patchwork 3D, we’re moving on to the next logical step of our custom rendering engine: GPU Path tracing with Global Illumination.

 

This implementation delivers a more complete rendering of light in the scene.

 

The goal: automatically calculate complex light interactions with materials and the environment.

The result? Visually realistic and more consistent images, without compromising performance.

This approach aligns with our vision of a fully controlled, real-time photorealistic rendering engine, designed to fit seamlessly into demanding industrial workflows.
