Preparing 3D data from CAD models (like Rhinoceros) to create interactive visual experiences is often a complex and fragmented process. Industry professionals regularly face information loss when transferring their configurable models to different software or devices, which slows down production and degrades the quality of deliverables.

An optimized preparation pipeline around Patchwork 3D allows for centralizing the creation of a “Visual Twin”. This approach enables using a single configurable product to generate engaging experiences across various devices and platforms.
Teams can easily handle NURBS tessellation, perform complex UV unfolding (ideal for upholstery and seams), and leverage high-quality real-time rendering using GPU Ray tracing and Path tracing technologies. The major advantage is that the model retains its fidelity when shared with other ecosystems.

The video illustrates a continuous workflow from CAD to the creation of marketing assets. The demonstration begins with importing Rhinoceros 3D CAD data into Patchwork 3D to prepare a Robotaxi model. The user manages material application, adjusting the car body paint, creating seams and stitches, and adding simple animations.
After testing these configurations in real-time, the workflow demonstrates that the Robotaxi model preserves its optimal fidelity and properties when directly imported into Blender, and then into Unreal Engine, thanks to the Visual Twin.
